Okay this lesson will not be as intense as the paint brush lesson this is going to be a play one.

The warp brushes create strokes that produce a warping effect on image pixels. You can twirl areas of images, contract or expand parts of images, and create many interesting effects. .

Go to your lessons folder and make a folder in the baby bee section that is titled: Warp Brush

1. Right click on the image below and save it to your Warp Brush folder:

2. Go to your PSP and open up the above image.

3. Click on your warp brush its located underneath your paint brush.

4. Take a look at my preset bar yours should look like mine.

As you have noticed the preset bar has a lot more settings than the one above, but not to overwhelm you were only going to look at the warp modes to see those effects.

5. Click on the arrow that points to the left in the warp modes:

6. Now take your mouse and hold down the left button and run your warp tool across the image. See what it does:

That is your Push option Push pushes pixels in the direction of the stroke. If you use the check mark it will set the effect. The check mark works the same way that it did in the Mesh lesson. But for now do not hit the check mark were still going to play with the same image.

ASSIGNMENT: TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE PUSH TOOL EFFECT ON YOUR IMAGE AND RESIZE IT AND SAVE AS A JPEG AND SEND IT IN FOR CREDIT.

7. Okay its time for a credit hint that you will use ALL THE TIME. It's a great time to learn the undo button. This is a great tool to use if you make a mistake and instead of starting over you just click on your undo tool and poof it takes the mistake away. Okay go click on the undo tool and if you hit the check mark by mistake on the warp tool then just click the undo button twice and it will take it back to the start.

8. Okay now go back to your warp brush preset bar and click on the expand option . Now take your mouse and you should see a circle click on the lips a couple of times and watch them get bigger:

This is my before pic

This is my after pic

OMG That poor lady's lips...LOL

The effect you just used is called the expand which pushes pixels away from the center of the brush.

ASSIGNMENT: TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE EXPAND TOOL EFFECT ON YOUR IMAGE AND RESIZE IT AND SAVE AS A JPEG AND SEND IT IN FOR CREDIT.

9. Go click that undo button: You may have to push undo button a couple of times to get the image back to normal.

10. Now go click on your contract button Again take your mouse and again you should have a circle click on the lips again. I clicked a lot to get those lips small. Check out effect:

This is my before

My after: Look at lips then are real small now

Contract pulls pixels into the center of the brush

ASSIGNMENT: TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE CONTRACT TOOL EFFECT ON YOUR IMAGE AND RESIZE IT AND SAVE AS A JPEG AND SEND IT IN FOR CREDIT.

to this: I had to click a couple of times and click on my check mark to continue to make them go up like they did.
