Go to your PSP folders and in "All Lessons", "Baby Bees" make a new folder name: Preset Shapes

For this lesson were only going to look at one of the presets. Use the scroll down arrow and click on the preset shape tool .

Look at your preset bar you will see a preview box with your preset shape choices. My choices look like this:

Click on the scroll arrow and your box will open like so:

These are all the choices your can choose from.

ASSIGNMENT: TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR PRESET SHAPES. CROP IT DOWN TO JUST SHOW THE BOX, SAVE IT AS A JPEG AND SEND IT IN FOR CREDIT.

Now let's work on one of them .

1. Click on the rectangle in your box.

Your preset bar will look like this:

2. Start a new image 500 x 500 transparent.

3. Go to your materials pallet and pick a foreground and a background color.

4. Draw a box. Mine looks like this:

See the vector and the nodules. This allows you to effect the preset shape just like you could with the raster deform tool.

5. Right click on vector and convert to a raster. Then right click on the raster 2 and merge visible.

ASSIGNMENT AFTER YOU CONVERT AND MERGE IT CROP IT DOWN AND SAVE IT AS A JPEG AND TURN IT IN FOR CREDIT.

1. Start a new image 500 x 500 transparent.

2. change the width on the preset shape to 13.

3. Draw a box and see the outline on it, its much thicker than before. See mine:

4. Repeat the convert and merge it.

ASSIGNMENT AFTER YOU CONVERT AND MERGE THE LARGER OUTLINE PRESET SHAPE SAVE IT AS A JPEG AND TURN IT IN FOR CREDIT.

1. Lots of folks have asked me how I make the arrows for the lessons. Well let's make one.

2. Open a new image 500 x 500 transparent.

3. Click on your preset shape tool .

4. On the preview box scroll down until you see the arrow. There may be several choices or arrows. I choose this one.

5. Now on your width change it to 5.

6. On your materials pallet close the background and leave only the foreground open.

7. Now on your blank canvas draw out your arrow. What you should see is this:

8. Now go to your layers and right click and convert to a layer. Go to raster layer 2 and right click and merge it all flatten. Your arrow now has the white background.

ASSIGNMENT: AFTER YOU MERGE IT, CROP DOWN YOUR ARROW AND SAVE IT AS A JPEG. SEND IT IN FOR CREDIT.

 

RECAP OF ASSIGNMENTS:

1. TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR PRESET SHAPES. CROP IT DOWN TO JUST SHOW THE BOX, SAVE IT AS A JPEG AND SEND IT IN FOR CREDIT.

2. AFTER YOU CONVERT AND MERGE YOUR FIRST BOX CROP IT DOWN AND SAVE IT AS A JPEG AND TURN IT IN FOR CREDIT.

3. AFTER YOU CONVERT AND MERGE THE LARGER OUTLINE PRESET SHAPE SAVE IT AS A JPEG AND TURN IT IN FOR CREDIT.

4. AFTER YOU MERGE IT, CROP DOWN YOUR ARROW AND SAVE IT AS A JPEG. SEND IT IN FOR CREDIT.
