Framing Bees Lesson  4

This is my own creation; any similarities to other tutorials are purely coincidental and unintentional.

Move the hand along each step you are on so you don't lose track:


Just left click on the hand and drag to where your at:


1.  Open up your fairy, overlay and silver beads into your PSP.


2.  Start a new image 500 x 500 white background. Right click on background layer and promote the background layer.  Rename the layer bk.


3.  Open up the fairy tube, right click and copy.  Close the original one.


4.  On your working canvas right click and paste as a new layer.


5.  Rename that layer fairy1, duplicate it and rename the duplicated copy fairy2.


6.  Activate fairy1 layer and apply this drop shadow:



7.  While still on that layer double click on fairy1 and lower the opacity to 50.


8.  Activate fairy2 and add this drop shadow:



9.  Close bk layer.  Activate fairy2 and merge visible.


10.  Open up the bk layer.


11.  Activate your Merged layer and rename it fairy.


12.  Open up the overlay right click on it and copy.  You can close that layer now.


13.  Go back to your working canvas and paste it as a new layer, rename it overlay.


14.  Take your move tool and move it towards the center of your frame like so:



15.  Image/add border/2-black.


16.  Image/add border/3-Red.


17. Use your magic wand and select the red border.  Selections/invert.


18.  Apply this cutout.



19.  Apply the cutout again but change the number to -1 for vertical/horizontal.


20.  Selections/invert.


21.  Click on your foreground then pattern and find the silver beads pattern.  Angle 0, scale 100.


22.  Flood fill your red border with your silver beads.


23.  Image/add border/2- black.


24.  Image/add border/3- Red.


25.  Use your magic wand and click inside the red border flood it with your silver beads.


26.  Selections/select none.


27.  Right click on your canvas and click on copy.


28.  Image/add border/10- white.


29.  Use your magic wand and click inside the new white border.


30.  Right click and paste INTO the selection.


31.  Selections/select none.


32.  Image/add border/25 - White.


33.  Use your magic wand and click in your new border. Selections/invert.


34.  Repeat step 18 and 19.


34. Selections/invert.


35.  Go to effects/reflection effects/Kaleidoscope and make your settings the same as mine below:



36.  While you still have the marching ants apply this inner bevel:



37.  Selections/select none.


38.  Image/add border/2-black.


39.  Image/add border/3-red.


40.  Use your magic wand and click inside the red border.


41.  Flood fill with your silver bead pattern.


42.  Selections/select none.


43.  Image/add border/2-black.


44.  Add your watermark.


45.  Send in for credit.




1)   Send one in following the lesson above.

2) Do another one following the lessons and use the overlay but this time use another image of your own.
